I feel very lucky to have worked with Mark Benton before he was such a fixture on our screens. I think the ‘Brand new customers only’ ad series he did for Nationwide was excellent. But the ATL agency hadn’t thought it through. People remembered the Bad Bank Manager character but not that they were supposed to buy stuff from and transfer their bank accounts to Nationwide Building Society.
Which is why we made these jaunty little BR & DRTV commercials which set the tills of a slightly less ghastly example of the capitalist hegemony a-jingling and a-tingling.
